Don’t miss this 55-page report that provides you with benchmarking data that explores how faculties are tracking their grant success rates, and related data on time and resources spent on grant submissions.

The report looks at data gathered from 378 higher education faculty drawn from a stratified universe of faculty emphasizing STEM faculty. Data is broken out by numerous institutional and personal variables including college or university type, size, and public/private status, as well as by personal respondent level of lifetime grant receipts, age, gender, work title and academic field.

The data is broken out for 20 subject areas, and separately for research universities, doctoral institutions, BA and community colleges.

Specialized survey data you won’t find anywhere else

The Survey of Research-Oriented Faculty, Tracking Grant Success Analysis Practices features in-depth commentary and scores of data points in over 70 easy-to-scan charts and tables displaying critical data you can’t find in any other publication. You’ll find data on:

  • How many and what type of institutions have a formal program to analyze the grant success rates of its faculty?
  • What variables are tracked in these programs?
  • How much time are faculty spending on grant submissions?
  • Do faculty, academic departments or research support departments track the costs associated with grant submissions?

Just a few of the findings in this report include:

  • A third of faculty say that their institutions have formal programs analyzing grant success rates.
  • Only 6.92% of full professors track the amount of time they spend on grant submissions.
  • 19.05% of faculty with lifetime grant totals of between $50,000 and $250,000 tracked grant submission costs while only 3.51% of faculty with grant totals between $1 and $5 million did so.
