Autumn is upon us! The leaves are starting to turn colors and Pumpkin Spice is seemingly available everywhere. This month’s issue looks at career growth in the technology transfer field. We lead the issue with two complementary articles. Our own Jodie Richardson writes about what career development looks like in our field, where there often is not an obvious path in many cases. We then report results from our Polices and Practices survey for what individuals are seeing as the greatest challenges they face in the office. We find that many respondents are unhappy with their own office’s leadership. 

Lori Fairchild writes about the growth of commercialization funds, which provide both additional resources for the office as well as new career experiences to manage those funds. Lastly, we included a brief article on best practices for cultivating intellectual property from campus. Note that we plan to continue more on career development in next month’s issue. Stay tuned!
