Training Manager User Guide

Manage assigned learners, monitor progress, and assign the Training Plans you have been authorized to manage.

Your role: A Training Manager (TM) works with specific Training Plans assigned by an Organization Training Manager. The learners, progress information, and training options presented to you are automatically limited to your authorized scope.

1. Getting started

Training Manager is available through your TechPipeline account after your manager status and Training Plan assignments have been approved.

  1. Open your account menu. Select Training Courses.
  2. Select Access Training Manager. This button appears in the Learner Management panel for authorized managers.
  3. Choose an organization if prompted. Managers connected to more than one organization will see an Organization selector.
Tip: Bookmark the Training Manager page after opening it. Your access is tied to your TechPipeline account, so sign in with the email address that received the manager invitation.

2. Understand your access

The Training Manager page presents only the tools and information available to your role. Controls you are not authorized to use are not displayed.

  • Managed Training Plans are assigned to you by an Organization Training Manager.
  • Visible learners are limited to people associated with the Training Plans you manage.
  • Training assignments are limited to your authorized Training Plans.
  • Learner capacity is shared by the organization.
Training Managers do not count toward learner capacity: Unless a TM is specifically enrolled in a plan, they do not take up a seat. A TM can view courses and quizzes, but will only get credit if enrolled.

3. Select the organization

If you manage Training Plans for more than one organization, use the Organization menu near the top of the page before making changes. Otherwise, skip to section 4.

  1. Confirm the organization name. The summary shows learner capacity and the number of Training Plans and Training Managers.
  2. Switch organizations as needed. Your managed Training Plans and visible learners update for the selected organization.
Important: Always confirm the selected organization before adding a learner, assigning training, or resending information.

  • Filter by Training Plan. The menu includes only the Training Plans available to you in the selected organization.
  • Filter by Progress or Activity. Locate learners who are complete, in progress, not started, or inactive for a selected period.
  • Sort the list. Available sorting options help organize the current results.
  • Select learners for a bulk email resend. Use individual checkboxes or Select all visible learners.

10. Notifications and good practices

Training notification preferences are available from the Training Courses page in your account menu.

  • Course completed sends a notice when a learner finishes a course.
  • Training Plan completed sends a notice when a learner completes every course in a Training Plan.
  • Save Preferences applies your choices. Notifications are limited to learners and Training Plans you manage.
Before making changes: Confirm the organization, learner email address, and selected Training Plans.
When something looks wrong: Refresh the page once, confirm the selected organization, and try the search again. If a learner or Training Plan you expect to manage is missing, contact your Organization Training Manager. If the problem continues, contact TechPipeline and include the learner email address, organization name, and a screenshot if possible.
