Sam Hopkins
Operations Manager MycoMed Technologies Sam Hopkins was the first full-time Commercialization Academy Manager at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures. In July 2021 he became Operations Manager at MycoMed Technologies, a JHU research spinout company developing diagnostic devices to detect systemic fungal infections.Sam earned his MBA at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, where he gained his first exposure to Hopkins investigators and the school’s tech transfer office. After graduation, he went on to do post-graduate work with the US Army Institute of Surgical Research within the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE). Sam has worked in several healthcare roles including consumer and clinician engagement and product development, and he has written successful commercialization plans for translational funding for JHU spinout companies. Sam has also been an adjunct professor of business at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and he is an avid musician and a two-time Jeopardy champion.
