The Corporate Relations Officer Staffing Issue

The role and practice of corporate relations officers (CROs) is evolving and growing as university-industry programs ramp up. Key to this evolution is building staffing and recruitment strategies on campus. This month we take a deep dive into the career trajectory of CROs across a wide range of campus settings. We begin with an in-depth analysis of the backgrounds and careers of CROs at the 100 largest universities in the US. We then highlight three professionals who have transitioned between corporate relations and technology transfer roles in their careers. Lastly, we look at campus recruiting from industry partners’ point of view to understand how companies view and leverage campus programs to build their own talent pipeline.
