Chicago, IL – TechPipeline, Inc. today announced the acquisition of Fuentek, LLC, one of the world’s leading providers of technology transfer consulting services. TechPipeline was founded in 2024 by Robert Lowe and Laura Schoppe—two longtime leaders in the technology transfer and intellectual property industries.
TechPipeline has experienced rapid growth in its subscriber base in the 18 months since acquiring TechTransferTactics and launching a series of new offerings, including original market research reports, recruiting services, and, most recently, a learning management system.
Schoppe founded and served as President of Fuentek since it began operating in 2001. Under the acquisition, Lowe will serve as Chief Executive Officer of the combined entities, overseeing both ongoing operations as well as expansion of services offered to the technology transfer industry. Schoppe will serve as Chief Commercialization Officer, focused on continuing her leadership in delivering high-impact consulting projects for clients.
“Bringing together TechPipeline and Fuentek into a single entity represents an exciting opportunity for the community. The combined company offers a single source of expertise, knowledge, and resources serving tech transfer organizations worldwide,” noted Lowe.
“Current services and subscriptions, including newsletter, webinars, and our roundtables, will continue as before. The scale and complementarity of the combined companies simply unlocks additive services beyond what was previously offered in the industry,” Lowe explained.
Schoppe adds, “I’m excited about merging seasoned teams of professionals. In addition to continuing technology analysis and marketing services, I’m looking forward to adding our decades of training interns, technology transfer professionals, and inventors to the TechPipeline catalogue of courses, as well as complementing the TechPipeline recruiting services with Fuentek’s capabilities to provide temporary staff until the vacancy is filled.”
New offerings are on the near-term horizon. The company is already planning in-person, regional “TechTalks” for the fall and spring, further upgrades to its learning management system, and other new service offerings to support tech transfer professionals.
